The effect of recarburizer on smelting

2021-12-31 09:57
As the name suggests, the recarburizer is used to increase the carbon content in the molten iron. In smelting, different smelting processes, different ingredients, different electric furnaces, and different quality of metallurgical quality will have different effects. Then the recarburizer has different effects on smelting. What are the impacts? How to use it to improve the smelting effect? The following is an introduction from the recarburizer manufacturer.

1, affect the oxidation of molten iron

In the process of electric furnace smelting, graphite nuclei can be increased in the process of melting. Adding iron carbide to the cupola smelting can increase the long-lasting graphite nucleus of the molten iron and reduce the oxidation of the molten iron.

2, affect the shrinkage of liquid iron

"Carburization" is a more appropriate measure to reduce or prevent the shrinkage tendency of molten iron. Because molten iron has the effect of graphitization expansion during the solidification process, excellent graphitization can reduce the shrinkage tendency of molten iron.

3, affect the performance of castings

Under the condition of high carbon content, in order to increase the strength of cast iron castings, the process of adding recarburizer to all scrap steel can be used in the smelting process, which can not only make the molten iron more pure, but also improve the performance of the casting materials produced.
