Water Filter activated carbon choosing

Along with industry bloom, water polution problem is more and more serious. So increasing people choosing water purifiers. Filters are key points of water purifiers, and activated carbon filters are the main filters because there are 2 or 3 filters are made by activated caron, usually, 5 stages water purifiers are the most common choice. Also 3 filters+RO+T33 is the most common choice.

Why choosing activated carbon?

RO membrane can do every thing of filtration but they are the most expensive in RO systerm. The main role of activated carbon filters is absobing residual chlorine, protecting RO membrane and make them working longer. Because residual chlorine is the main killer for damaging RO membrane.

There are three types of filter activated carbon.

1.UDF

UDF filters are also called UDF cartridges, GAC, 85C. The abbreviation of UDF loose carbon core is the use of high-absorption activated loose carbon, welded by a special process, which can remove peculiar smells and free chlorine in the water. Mainly used for three-channel filtration of straight drinking water in water treatment.

Packed activated carbon filter element Put the required activated carbon particles into a special plastic shell, use welding equipment to weld the end caps to the two ends of the shell, and put the non-woven filter on both ends of the shell respectively. , To ensure that the carbon core will not drop carbon powder and black water during use. According to the needs of customers, the shell end cover can be made into different types of connection ports. Interface methods are flat pressure type, pipeline type (models: 4042, 4044, 4046, etc.).

2. CTO

CTO sintered activated carbon filter element is a sintered activated carbon filter element made of powdered activated carbon as raw material and polyethylene as a polymer binder.

The compressed activated carbon filter element uses coal-based activated carbon and coconut shell activated carbon with high adsorption value as the filter material and is sintered and compressed with a food-grade binder. The inside and outside of the compressed activated carbon filter element are respectively wrapped with a layer of non-woven fabric with filtering effect to ensure that the carbon core itself will not drop the carbon powder. The two ends of the carbon core are equipped with soft nitrile rubber gaskets so that the carbon core is loaded into the filter cartridge. Has good airtightness.

The powdered activated carbon has a developed microporous structure and a huge specific surface area, which makes it have excellent adsorption performance. However, powder-activated carbon also has some shortcomings in its application. One of the most important ones is that the treated wastewater is difficult to separate, difficult to recycle, and it can also cause dust pollution [2~3]. In contrast, sintered activated carbon is one of the most shaped activated carbons. It has a fixed size, strength, etc., which can overcome these shortcomings of powdered activated carbon, is convenient for transportation and recycling, and has no dust pollution in the application. In daily life, it is used in air purifiers and water dispensers to make the manufacture and maintenance of the device more convenient.

CTO sintered activated carbon filter has following advantages

A. Excellent performance:

It adopts high-quality powdered activated carbon and a variety of special formulas. Through the unique low-temperature compression activation manufacturing process and deep filtration effect, the filter element is formed with fine filter holes and the pore size is tortuous, which greatly extends the contact time between water and activated carbon, and efficiently filters out different colors. , Peculiar smell, heavy metals and trihalomethanes, and other carcinogens, and can strongly inhibit the reproduction of bacteria.

B. Super adsorption:

Make full use of the pore-forming properties of the powder binding material and the activated carbon with high adsorption capacity. It is naturally activated and formed at high temperatures to prevent the surface of the activated carbon from reducing its adsorption function due to the binder wrapping, and maximize the adsorption specific surface area and adsorption speed. . The adsorption capacity is dozens of times that of ordinary activated carbon.

C. Safe and reliable:

Using physical effects such as "power traction" and "water pressure equalization", there will be no black water phenomenon due to the leakage of fine carbon powder. The filter element can withstand up to 10 kg of water pressure to ensure the purity and safety of the water quality and the taste is sweet tasty.

D. Environmental protection and energy saving:

Natural carbon raw material is used, easy to regenerate, no chemical binder is added, pure physical filtration method, low-pressure loss, the pressure of tap water under normal conditions is the filtering power of the filter element, and no electricity is required.

3.T33

T33 often refers to the activated carbon core name T33. Activated carbon core is made of high-quality nutshell charcoal and coal-based activated carbon as raw materials, supplemented by edible-grade binders, using high-tech technology, and processed by special processes. It combines adsorption, Filtration, interception, and catalysis are integrated, which can effectively remove organic matter, residual chlorine, and other radioactive substances in the water, and has the effect of decolorizing and removing the peculiar smells. It is an ideal new generation product in the liquid and air purification industry.

In conclusion, the best choice of RO water purifiers are using 1 PPF and 3 activated carbon filters. There are three types of activated carbon filters, T33 is necessary, only UDF and CTO is alternative. CTO is better than UDF, UDF only has 40% effective for CTO. We would better choose 2 CTO activated carbon filters and 1 T33 for both filter factory and users if we could.
